I want to thank you for your posts. As a divorced Dad of 2 (a boy and girl, both under 10), I also share 50/50 custody. I am new to this, the struggle of being a working single half-time dad, and your posts have provided sound advice, that I truly appreciate. I have even embraced (i.e., stolen) some of your routines (e.g., tea with dad) and I am thankful to know that I have "brothers" out there fighting the good fight and doing the right thing. Lord knows it ain't easy, but, with thoughtful awareness of our parenting efforts (the failures and victories) and a positive outlook - good times await. Every day is an opportunity to sink into depression or to learn and grow - most days, I am walking the right path and your posts are a big help in keeping me on track. Best of luck to you, Dan

I'm happily married and my husband was someone who I followed his band as a teenager. We always said, "Hello" but never got into deep conversation until their reunion in 2005, we had so much chemistry and connection, so we've been together ever since.

When I was single, I didn't like online dating. First of all more times than not the chemistry often isn't there, like when you meet someone by chance. The one person I had physical chemistry with was probably in the top five of worst people I ever dated in my life (nasty, cruel, abusive) and I gave that jerk one too many chances. This person also lied about his height. Not that it would matter as I'm a petite girl myself -- but any kind of lie is a red flag if you ask me.

So my advice to anyone single and looking -- just do all the fun things you'd normally do and let love happen naturally. If you want it, it will happen :)

First, I am so honored that you liked my blog on The Cowsills. My husband has quite a few of their CDs. They are just so amazing, the production, the sound ... if you listen so closely to "Hair" you can see that artists who came immediately afterwards (like Queen) picked up on the vocalizing.

You did a wonderful job on that film! My husband watched it three times. I could only watch once because it was so heartbreaking. I wish more people would THINK before bringing children into this world. There are way too many stories about abusive parents and it messes kids up on so many levels. People should have to go through therapy as a requirement before becoming a parent. And even if you don't think about abuse on a severe level, it breaks my heart that parents teach their children to hate others who don't have the same political or religious beliefs. Definitely not cute to hear stuff like that no matter how young a kid is.

What is your next project?

I consider myself lucky that my kids have such a great dad. Being a single parent is tough - mom or dad, but I think kids need both parents equally as much. It sounds like you're kids have a great dad as well! Best of luck to you.
